The Spring Retreat is for Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES) members in their first or second year of Pediatric Endocrinology training. The Retreat is held annually in association with PES Annual Meeting. The goals of the Spring Retreat are to develop and practice critical thinking skills in clinical Pediatric Endocrinology, learn different career trajectories within the field, and network with other fellows and faculty. Fellows will present cases to an audience of faculty and peers, learn from nationally recognized faculty, and have fun in the process.

The two and a half day course encompasses didactic lectures by faculty, small groups teaching sessions, and interactive case discussions prepared and presented by fellows. In the evenings, there are planned activities for relaxation and time to get to know each other. The fellow will prepare a 10-15 minute case discussion to the full group on an assigned topic, with supervision from a faculty member. Topics will include areas of special interest and controversy within Pediatric Endocrinology.

The Retreat occurs after the 2020 PES Annual Meeting in Fort Worth, TX (arrive Monday afternoon April 27, 2019 and depart Thursday April 30, 2020). The Retreat will take place at The Worthington, Renaissance Hotel. Accommodations and meals during the retreat will be provided.

If more applications are obtained than available positions, the review committee will select one person per program to maintain geographic diversity of the participants.
