Lawson Wilkins, MD Lectureship

This lectureship was established to honor Lawson Wilkins, MD, the primary individual responsible for the establishment and recognition of the discipline of pediatric endocrinology. The Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society was founded in 1972 by a group of Dr. Wilkins' trainees; in 2010 the name of the Society was changed to the Pediatric Endocrine Society. The Lawson Wilkins Lecture is given annually by a leading authority in the field of pediatric endocrinology.

The Lecturer, who need not be a member of the PES, is chosen yearly to deliver a plenary lecture at the PES Annual Meeting. The Lecturer will be selected by the PES Honors & Lectures Committee based upon recommendations/suggestions from the PES President.
