COVID-19 Update from the Pediatric Endocrine Society

PES has been closely monitoring the rapidly increasing domestic and worldwide developments during the last several weeks, days, and even hours related to COVID-19. Between the fast-growing number of members’ institutions that have implemented travel bans, the President declaring this pandemic a National Emergency, and the city of Fort Worth declaring a Public Health emergency due to COVID-19, it is obvious that all these realities make it impossible to hold the 2020 PES Annual Meeting, originally scheduled for April 24-27, 2020 in Fort Worth, TX.

Given the incredible excitement in anticipation of what has been shaping up to be a terrifically successful first ever independent meeting, and recognizing the extensive work of the program committee and staff, PES Management at the direction of leadership, is investigating potential alternatives and/or opportunities to postpone this meeting to a later date.
Please bear with us as we do our research. We will be in touch with our stakeholders once a logical, informed path forward has been decided. Please refrain from emailing and calling to allow management the time to gather data.

IMPORTANT: If you booked within the PES room block (Worthington Renaissance, Courtyard Fort Worth Downtown, Spring Hill Suites, Fairfield Fort Worth Downtown, Embassy Suites Fort Worth Downtown, Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Fort Worth - we have cancelled your room reservation for you. IF YOU BOOKED OUTSIDE OF THE BLOCK, YOU WILL NEED TO CANCEL YOUR ROOM RESERVATIONS.  Also, you are encouraged to cancel your flights if you have not already done so.

In the meantime, as we all respect the directive from the various government officials to "social distance" ourselves to reduce the spread of this novel virus, we wish you and your families safety and good health during this very difficult time.
Erica Eugster, MD
PES President
